The rural development and control unit currently consists of twelve employees. We mainly work with project activities for rural development and advice to agricultural companies in the region, control of feed and food in primary production, animal marking controls, area control, and veterinary issues.

About the job

As our new colleague, you will work with project management primarily within three projects under Sweden's strategic plan for the implementation of the European agricultural policy:

1. Greppa näringen
2. Ecological production
3. Strengthened competitiveness and improved animal welfare

The role of project manager includes tasks such as seeking new projects, driving projects with procurement of services, booking and conducting activities such as workshops, lectures, or farm visits. It also includes associated administration with financial follow-up, requisitioning, as well as evaluation and development of goals and measures. In this role, you will collaborate with both colleagues in the department and other actors in the region. The position also includes leading courses and giving presentations, which we therefore expect you to have previous experience in. Writing articles for the magazine Landsbygdsnytt or information texts in our newsletters is also part of the job.

About you

We are looking for someone with relevant academic education in agriculture, rural development, or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways. Examples of educational backgrounds among others working with similar tasks include agronomist, farm manager, biologist, or similar.

It is a prerequisite that you have knowledge of the conditions of agriculture and food production and an understanding of its challenges. It is an advantage if you have work experience as a coordinator, project or process leader, as well as knowledge of or experience with the EU's common agricultural policy. Previous experience of working in a government agency or work experience within the green sectors, particularly focusing on livestock, is also advantageous. Additional merit if you have previously worked with advisory assignments and if you have the authority to conduct training within Greppa näringen and/or Ecological production. To complement the rest of the team, we would like you to have experience in animal husbandry within agriculture, which can include both practical and/or theoretical knowledge.

The position includes working with accounting, administration, and financial follow-up in the projects you manage. Therefore, it is beneficial if you have previous experience in this.

We are looking for someone with good knowledge of the Swedish language that allows you to express yourself fluently in speech and writing, knowledge of and experience with the Office suite, and a valid B driver's license.

The County Administrative Board has an important coordinating role in societal disturbances, and therefore all employees are included in the crisis and war organization.
